One of the most photogenic day trips in New South Wales. We drive north to Anna Bay for Birubi Beach and the Stockton sand dunes, then follow the Port Stephens coastline through lookouts and quiet bays before turning back at sunset.

    Good to know

    How long is the day?

    We leave Sydney early morning and return late evening, after sunset at the coast.

    Is sandboarding difficult?

    No experience is needed — the session is run by the dune operator and suits complete beginners.

    Do I have to do the Tomaree walk?

    It is optional. The climb takes around 30 minutes each way, and there is beach time for anyone who prefers to stay below.
