2-Day Jervis Bay Itinerary from Sydney

Jervis Bay is about three hours south of Sydney, known for its white sand and clear water. Two days is enough for a relaxed first visit — a little surfing, time by the beach and a night under the stars.

Day 1 — Surf, beach time and camping

Leave Sydney early and head south to Jervis Bay. Start with a two-hour beginner surf lesson at Cave Beach, then enjoy lunch by the water.

Spend the afternoon enjoying the beach and spotting kangaroos — keep your distance and let wildlife come and go. Set up camp, settle in for a shared dinner and enjoy a bonfire where permitted, subject to local rules and fire restrictions.

Day 2 — Sunrise and the Jervis Bay coastline

Wake up for sunrise on the beach, then enjoy breakfast before exploring Hyams Beach and the Jervis Bay coastline. Leave room for free beach time and a swim before heading back to Sydney in the afternoon.

Before you go

  • Bring sunscreen, a warm layer for the evening and a reusable water bottle.
  • Booderee National Park charges a vehicle entry fee; check current park information before you travel.
  • Check surf conditions and follow your instructor’s guidance.
